The bravado of the king was strong.  He had gone into the tiniest detail of how he lost his eye in a fight with the unicorn and how he’d come out as the victor, when actually had just hurt it a little when he slipped and poked himself in the eye with a snooker cue in the middle of game they were playing together.  It was a deception he would have to keep up for a very long time!
